February 1st 2016 - Meet the Authors

Hi, it’s Christina!

It’s Monday again, so that means it’s time for Monday Meet the Authors.

I think three is my “magical” number. It’s the easiest for me to manage, especially if the authors have less than five books. When I get to the authors with more extensive libraries, I’ll probably limit the feature to one or two authors. Sound good?

Stephanie Collins
First up today is Stephanie Collins and her book With Angel’s Wings, a gripping true account of a young parent coming to terms with having a special needs child.

With Angel's Wings is the true story of Laura, a young wife and mother of a three-year-old daughter. Her husband, Kevin, a marine, is deployed overseas, leaving Laura to give birth to their second daughter and handle the two young children on her own.

With Angel's
Thirteen days after the birth of her youngest, the pediatrician detects a heart murmur. That leads to just the first of multiple diagnoses for both of her daughters, sending Laura on an unexpected and emotional journey into the world of parenting medically-fragile, special needs children.

Right when Laura fears she will break under the incredible pressure, she encounters the beauty of true love, in a most unexpected and unconventional way.”

Raven H. Price
Next up is Christian Fantasy/Romance Author of The Plan, The Conversion & The Chosen, Raven H.Price

The Plan begins with Rachel as a young child having a very special relationship with Jesus. Her new friend comforts her and encourages her but they lose contact in time as the world steers her down a different path. Horrors upon horrors happen until she is face to face once again with her Savior. At the age of thirty-four, she learns to rely and depend on her childhood friend once again. As her life and lifestyle dramatically changes the Lord introduces her to the love of her life.

The Plan
Experience causes her to have compassion when young romances go wrong, this brings her to a situation at church where she sees many teenage girls enthralled over a fictional movie character. The movie, a love story between a mortal and a vampire, is not Rachel’s usual kind of entertainment. With an open mind, she watches the movie knowing that she is being lead there for a purpose. No wonder this movie has the young girls’ fascination: the male lead was fashioned after Jesus.

This immediately propels her to want to tell her own story. Should she reveal her disgusting past and risk losing the respect she has with the congregation by sharing everything to keep these young girls from going through the same horrors without the Lord?”

The Conversion
“Book one of The Harvesting Machine trilogy, The Conversion begins the story by explaining how after being beaten and emotionally bruised by two ex-husbands, Hope Anderson seeks the comfort she once felt within her family church. Upon her first visit back, she sits on the last row to secure her anonymity. Desperate to find comfort and acceptance, Hope felt judgmental eyes instead.

Regularly plagued by fear and paranoia, Hope seeks counsel and finds it through a female evangelist on television. The woman’s depiction of love and her explanation of a spiritual journey prompts Hope to ask God for the same. He grants her request. Hope is taught how to pray effectively because of her journey with the Holy Spirit. With intercession, Hope is also granted supernatural gifts of spiritual sight and hearing. She faces demons bravely through her faith in the Holy Spirit to help others.

When Hope’s journey is over, she does not turn her back on her church or on her colleagues at work. Instead, she boldly stands and fights for them using her superpowers. It is through this process that Hope learns to love herself and other people and to forgive.
Living happily with her Lord, Hope is faced once again with what caused her immense fear and paranoia. The fight for her life begins, and it is the worst physical and spiritual battle imaginable!”

The Chosen
A prophecy is starting over. Heaven holds a meeting so the last piece of a puzzle can be chosen. Jesus chooses Gina Grimes, a strong-willed, self-serving, and unchurched young woman to complete the team.

For Jesus’s plan to work, the Holy Spirit has to first convince Gina her lifestyle isn’t great. He uses Caylee Sellers, Gina’s happy-go-lucky coworker, to convince her there is a better life with the Lord. Once Gina submits to Jesus, he sends her a guardian angel. But when the angel called Ox arrives on the scene to guard her, he sees that Satan is already focused on Gina and is determined to ruin or kill Jesus’s new convert before the Lord’s seed of faith can take root.

A battle of wills begins, and in the process, Gina gets physically hurt. To counteract the situation Satan caused, the Holy Spirit uses another strategy on Gina to produce an effect that will shape her outlook and give her a supernatural way to contour nearly every action and thought.

While Gina physically heals, the Holy Spirit makes sure Gina finds new friends who are also equipped with guardian angels and various powers. Jesus’s plan starts working. Gina gains strength with the Holy Spirit’s guidance, Ox’s presence, and her new friends’ assurance. Eventually, she will find what she craves, but not until all hell breaks out.”

With every miraculous power revealed will come a sinister evil. William and his Crew will find themselves in a world which defies every reality.”

“The Crew have never been strangers to tragedy…

A Fine Line:
The Ancients
Part I
William Healthaway’s family has proven to be quite resilient. Surviving an unprovoked attack by the Damned and defeating the evil warrior Tetron, however, hasn’t guaranteed a happy ending for the family. Still reeling from the loss of his children and plagued by nightmarish images from the Civil War, William must overcome his grief in order to unify his family and prepare them for the impending revenge, certain to be meted out by the Damned.

Unexpected peril presents itself in the form of hate and prejudice from an unlikely source—the townspeople the Crew have live lived among for much of their lives. Rumors of witchcraft, unprovoked attacks and an unfortunate reveal of the powers the family struggles to keep hidden threaten to drive the Crew from their home, just when they crave stability and peace the most.

Despite all of the upheaval in their lives, the members of the Crew press on, facing the challenges to come with fortitude, tenacity and a profound love for one another. Dark days lie ahead, ones that will challenge William and his family’s sanity and make them question whether life is even worth living anymore. In the face of unspeakable tragedy, will the Crew rebound so they can seize the opportunity, unexpectedly lain before them, to learn of their ancient lineage and convoluted history? Does the appearance of a mysterious, but alluring, stranger spell disaster and death…or can she provide the answers the Crew have sought for so long to find the source of their mysterious powers? Even if the pieces to the puzzle all fall into place, will William’s family be able to stave off the Damned and prevent the decimation of the family they hold so dear?”

“War is coming… Is William’s family ready?

A Fine Line:
The Ancients
Part II
The mysterious appearance of a young girl—brutalized and half dead—has thrown the Crew into a heightened state of disquiet. Aurora and her evil pack of Damned have declared war, and William now wonders if, somehow, the seemingly-innocent girl may be employed in some way as a dangerous weapon in the coming battle. Once she has recovered from her injuries, the girl’s lost memories present a new puzzle the Crew desperately needs to piece together if they are to gain any advantage over their cruel enemies.

The revelation of an ancient relic may deliver the critical aid the Crew so direly requires. Its newly-discovered power enables William to delve into the strange girl’s memories, but will the answers be too horrifying for the Crew to accept? Along with the new found strength found in this lost treasure comes a treacherous caveat, and William must decide if all of the gains gifted to his family are worth the precarious risks it demands.

After a gruesome discovery in the woods surrounding their home, the Crew are left with another rose among the thorns. But, true to form, Aurora comes to tear that flower away from the vine and claim an advantage for herself. During the family’s valiant efforts to stop her, Brimmount is critically injured, leaving him with a handicap the rest of the family fear he may not be able to overcome. Caroline, William’s wife, fears her own growing powers, brought to fruition by the duplicitous relic. One of the family members remains missing…and yet another is discovered by happenstance.

Can the Crew turn disadvantage to advantage in time to thwart Aurora’s intent to, literally, tear the family to pieces? Will yet another unexpected, but fortunate, homecoming prove enough to turn the tide in the bloody war, the outcome of which will spell the very fate of the human race, as well as that of the ancients?”
