Hi, it’s Christina!
It’s Monday! I’ve looked
back at the past few weeks’ worth of Monday Meet the Authors and I realized I
seem to have been neglecting the menfolk, so today’s post will feature the
guys.
Alexander Paw |
First up is Alexander Paw.
Alex and his wife live in Thailand, and to say Alex’s an interesting guy, would
be an understatement, but I think you’ll get the same vibe when you read about
his books. Don’t let them scare you off, he’s truly a sweetie-pie (but don’t
tell him I said so).
I guess the way Amazon Thailand sets up their books is a
little different than they do here or in Europe, but since all his books kinda
tie in to each other, the brief description should give you the gist. If you’re
looking for unicorns and rainbows, keep right on scrolling, ‘cause ya ain’t
gunna find that here.
Dance with the Devil on a Pale Moon’s Light, Human Killers tells a story about a young boy whose life
becomes transform by the Devil who finds out all too late the Devil is the
father of the lie always has and until the end of time will be.
Ladyman (Dance with the Devil Book 2): Ninety-nine
years after his control over me has stopped, I feel truly comfortable with
myself. I needed that closure. When you have lived with the devil nearly all
your life, and you somehow escape him, it is important to see him hurled into
the abyss of total darkness. His death and power, over me destroyed.
One Shoe in Thailand: A
trip into the underbelly of the sex trade in Thailand.
Doug Cooper |
Next up in this brofest is
Doug Cooper, husband, dad, author, professor and chemical engineer, who hails
from Connecticut. As a wide-eyed child, Doug was able to experience an Apollo
launch, which sparked his imagination, and ultimately led him to become an
author of SciFi thrillers.
I will be listing his books out of order because,
two years after the release of Crystal Deception, and after pressure from his
fans who wanted a back story of some of his main characters, Doug released the
series prequel – Crystal Horizon. So, if you’ll forgive my slight OCD tendencies,
I am going to list his books in chronological story order as opposed to
publication order.
Crystal Horizon: A Short Prequel to Crystal Deception: This prequel takes place five years before
the time of Crystal Deception, where we meet Cheryl as a captain of a military
space cruiser and Sid as a covert warrior for the Defense Specialists Agency.
We
learn in Crystal Deception that Sid and Cheryl have a shared history and, in
particular, a romantic relationship that has somehow gone awry. In this
prequel, we join them on the day they first meet and we experience that history
with them.
Crystal Deception: Criss
lives in a special kind of prison. He can see and hear everything around the
world. Yet a mesh restrains his reach and keeps him cooperative. His creator,
Dr. Jessica Tallette, believes his special abilities offer great promise for
humanity. But she fears the consequences of freeing him, because Criss, a
sentient artificial intelligence with the intellect of a thousand humans, is
too powerful to control.
Guided
by her scientific training, Tallette works cautiously with Criss. That is,
until the Kardish, an otherwise peaceful race of alien traders, announce they
want him. With technologies superior to Earth’s, the Kardish express their
desires with ominous undertones.
The
Union of Nations is funding Tallete’s artificial intelligence research, and she
turns to them for help. Sid, a special agent charged with leading the response,
decides Earth’s greatest weapon is the very AI the aliens intend to possess.
But what happens when an irresistible force meets an immovable object? And what
is humanity’s role if an interstellar battle among titans starts to rage?
Crystal Conquest: Aliens
fire the first shots in their invasion of Earth, and that’s when Criss realizes
he’s outmatched. He spent years preparing for this moment, working with his
human leadership to develop weapons and refine strategies. Created with the
thinking and reasoning ability of a thousand people, Criss never expected the
invaders to arrive with an artificial intelligence that dwarfed his
capabilities, nor did he expect to be the target of their vengeance.
When he
squares off against the alien Goliath to protect the world, defeat is certain.
Or is it? Together with Sid, Cheryl, and Juice—a covert operative, Fleet
officer, and crystal scientist—Criss struggles to defeat the aggressors and
save civilization from annihilation. But can he outsmart the alien intelligence
in a titanic battle of wits? And can he do so before Earth lies in ruins?
Jason Thibodeaux |
Last, but certainly not
least, we have Jason Thibodeaux. Our Texas raised author is a husband and dad,
and a HUGE supporter of other authors. Through social media, I have known Jason
for a little less than a year, and in that time, he has faithfully supported me
and my writing. However, I have yet to see him promote any of his own work,
which is a shame, because he is a gifted and talented writer in his own right.
Jason’s books cater to younger readers.
Detective Shannon in Who Stole the Cookies From The Cookie Jar: Who stole the cookies
from the cookie jar? Detective Shannon is on the case to find the culprit .
Follow Detective Shannon as she searches her home for the usual and unusual
subjects.
The Incident at Bottomless Lakes New Mexico: An Elephant-like alien name Trusk comes to Earth in
search for the Utopian Hyrule Princess Calista , who is a lioness like alien
who crashed landed on Earth. Trusk arrives at The Bottomless Lakes State Park
near Roswell Air Force Base. Trusks arrival sparks fear and first contact which
alerts military and government officials. A Reporter, Cherry Hill, covering the
Incident at Bottomless Lakes befriends him and helps him to find his Princess before
The Utopian Armada comes to Earth to dominate Earth unless the Princess is
returned.
Encounter at Canyon City (Incident at Bottomless Lakes Book 2): After the events of the incident of
Bottomless Lakes New Mexico the Big Elephant Alien Trusk, that caused the prom
a few months ago, is back and he's not alone to search for unrecovered alien
technology. They befriend a boy and his family and run into old enemies and a
new enemy with a dastardly plan.
Xura's Quest: Xura's Trials: A young beautiful amazon warrior, named Xura to her Father and
the Herotopian Tribunal Council, must face trials to prove that she can be a
hero in a land that does not deem her kind a hero.
So there you have it, the “boys”
are represented. Hopefully you, or one of the younger readers you know, will
find something which sparks your interest.
Until next time… wishing
you a wonderful day and Happy Writing!
